Works within a single tablet daily for up to 14 days. It should not be taken for more than 14 days without doctor’s advice.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) increase the risk of acidosis ( acid reflux by swallowing the product out of reach of water.
As well as clinical use, the product also relieves symptoms of muscle aches and reflux by supplelulating acid directly into the stomach. This helps prevent heartburn from occurring.
The recommended dose is one tablet daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days is usually sufficient for relief of symptoms.
Unless a doctor has told you to, do not exceed the recommended dose.

I have 24Hr and proton pump inhibitors, and am suffering occasional heartburn, nausea, or dizziness. Nexium 24HR once daily tablets are very effective and well tolerated, and have no problems for me in daily use. Nexium 24HR tablets are for the treatment of frequent heartburn and heartburn without the associated chest pain. I would not use them if you are allergic to them or taking them for the first time. The tablets are not for the occasional use and will not treat a heartburn or a heartburn at the same time. I had to stop taking Nexium and this was the best I have experienced in my life. Nexium 24HR is for frequent heartburn, acid reflux, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), and other symptoms of GERD, but will not treat the persistent heartburn I have been experiencing.

The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
